This application allows you to control the directories where the e-mail lists are generated, the size of each list and specific search criteria for generating each list.

When generating a series of lists, the application connects to the Control server and checks for any new unsubscribe lists, loads the information into the database. It then starts generating a series of lists, the maximum number of e-mail addresses in each list is configurable. As it generates the lists it checks the newly imported unsubscribes for a match, if it finds a match it moves the record to the unsubscribe portion of the database and from the current list being generated.

Once all the lists have been generated, it backs up the database and starts the whole process over again.

The e-MASS system is the core of the e-MASS solution. The application allows you to assign IP addresses and domains to the broadcaster machines. The SMTP settings are also configurable along with the directory structure of each broadcaster. Once the settings have been configured you create the config file ready for the broadcaster to collect.

E-mail campaigns are created by assigning creative, subject, seed-list e-mails and from names files. Once the campaign has been created the subject, seed-list e-mails and from names files can be edited and additional items can be added. Allowing you to quickly and easily modify your subject lines while a campaign is running. The system also has a quick edit screen which allows you to simply assign or change campaign to each broadcaster.

The system allows you to bulk add domain names which are then dynamically assigned to the IP addresses of the broadcasters. Once all the domains and IP addresses have been assigned the system creates the DNS records and uploads the files to the DNS server.

The system downloads the broadcaster results files once a day, allowing you to view reports on how the broadcasters are performing.

The system also checks the broadcaster list directory, if the broadcaster has run out of e-mail lists the system automatically refills the directory.

  • Client mode
  • Server mode

Client Mode: the remote is installed onto all the broadcasters in this mode and runs as an application. The Client then waits for a command from the Server. If there is a problem on the broadcaster a quick Restart button is available that will restart the e-MASS applications and clean up the broadcaster ready to start mailing again.

Server Mode: the remote is installed onto any machine that has remote access to the broadcasters, usually this will be the control machine. The Server then allows you to connect to each broadcaster and check the time of the last action that was performed on a broadcaster. If this is longer than the time allowed the server can issue a restart of the e-MASS system on that broadcaster or a restart of the actual machine.

Monitor Mode: the remote is installed onto the Mail and DNS server machines. The remote is then configured to restart either or both the Mail and DNS services.

The e-MASS mailer manages the IP address of the broadcaster that it is installed on. When the application starts it gets its configuration file from the e-MASS control server. Once the Mailer is running it will change its IP address at regular intervals, unless the deliverability has dropped below the threshold at which point it will also change its own IP address. When the IP changes the Mailer will also reconfigure the SMTP services to match the new IP address and domain associated with the IP address.

When the Mailer starts mailing it pulls the latest creative, subject, seed-list e-mails and from names files from the control machine along with the e-mail list to mail to. This allows each of the files to be updated at any time and the Mailer will pick up the changes when it pulls the next e-mail list.

Once the Mailer has finished sending its current e-mail list, it will connect to the Control machine and pick up the next list to mail.

The HTML link inside the creative, for the images, is dynamically built and constructed randomly from its configuration file, ensuring that each e-mail being sent out is different from the last.

The web-site allows an employee to remotely configure the e-mail campaign for each broadcaster.

The subject line, seed-list e-mails and from names files can also be updated, these changes will be immediately picked up the next time a broadcaster mailing the associated campaign requests a new e-mail list from the control machine.

The web-site also provides the capablity to view the mailing reports for each broadcaster. These show the number of e-mails sent, the number that could not be delivered, the time taken to send the e-mails, the time and the IP address at the time of mailing.
